Lisa DeCora is a seasoned attorney with more than two decades of experience advising Tribal governments, federal agencies, and healthcare organizations. Her background includes service with the U.S. Department of the Interior and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, as well as extensive private-practice work supporting Tribal and Alaska Native clients. Ms. DeCora brings deep expertise in Federal Indian law, intergovernmental relations, and complex regulatory frameworks.
Ms. DeCora’s practice focuses on strengthening tribal sovereignty and advancing self-determination through strategic legal counsel, policy development, and effective interagency coordination. She has advised on a broad range of matters, including Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (ISDEAA) contracting, self-governance compact negotiations, healthcare regulatory compliance, real property matters, and federal probate. She regularly assists Tribal governments, Alaska Native corporations, IHS- and BIA-funded organizations, and federal officials in navigating legal and regulatory challenges to achieve durable, community-centered solutions.
Throughout her career, Ms. DeCora has been a trusted resource to Tribal leaders and Native-serving institutions, valued for her ability to pair cultural insight with legal precision. Her work reflects a longstanding commitment to promoting Indigenous rights, strengthening Native governance structures, and supporting equitable access to essential services.
